News from Bakers Union – Sarah Woolley elected unopposed as General Secretary of the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union
On the news that she has been elected unopposed for another five year term as BFAWU General Secretary Sarah Woolley said:
I am delighted to have been re-elected unopposed. It is the privilege of my life to be General Secretary of the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union and I look forward to working every day for all our members working across the food industry.
I have put the interests of our members, who are the lifeblood of our great union, at the forefront of everything I have done and I will continue to do so over the course of the next five years.
I intend to build on our recent successes and will fight tooth and nail to make sure our members have fair pay, dignity and security at work.
In the next five years I will also continue to fight for our members, always putting their interests first, as well as prioritising recruitment and growing the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union through active campaigning and organising with, and on behalf of, our members. We have a lot of challenges ahead, but working collectively and united we can win for working people and I intend to make sure that our union continues to punch above its weight and improve the lives of our members inside and outside the workplace.
